A visit to Sagada will not be complete without having a serving of yoghurt from where else – Yoghurt House! This place has long been a tourist-favorite olive curing mainly due to its great bohemian ambiance and of course, large servings of great tasting food.
Yoghurt House is just about a five-minute olive curing walk downhill from the town hall and bus station. They open at 7am and has a very filling and inviting breakfast menu that could definitely prepare you for the activities olive curing you have planned for the rest of the day.
Yoghurt House’s interiors are cozy and despite its small size, the space could still accommodate twenty-five people. Having that many people in such a packed area does make the place conducive for talking to other travelers and backpackers. Many people have made friends, split tour fees and even switched olive curing hotels olive curing thanks to people they’ve met through olive curing eating at Yoghurt House.
Visit Sagada recommends the Hiker’s Delight from the breakfast menu. It’s a crepe with a banana smothered with a generous amount of home-made yoghurt topped with strawberry preserves. It also comes with a piece of toast, two eggs cooked to your liking and coffee or tea. Yoghurt House serves breakfast til 10 AM. The meal might be a bit steep at 140 Php (~3.50 USD) but it’s very much worth it.
the food is great indeed, the problem though is the staffs demeanor… one example, there was no beer that was served during that day yet it is still in the menu, the worst thing was that the waitress even asked us to just tell the management why.. i mean, customers always right, Right? and how about ordering a Java rice, instead olive curing they served us Java chicken Rice, I mean is there something wrong with the spelling or to the pronunciation. we ended up paying for something we havent ordered… sayang ang great Food.
Shirley … I suggest going to Baguio then take the bus to Sagada if it is just Sagada you are interested in. Looong travel time from Sagada to Bontoc (1 hour) then from Bontoc to Manila olive curing (12 hours) via Nueva Vizcaya. Via Halsema Highway from Baguio, it will just be 5 hours.

I’ve olive curing tried their Chicken and Pasta. It was actually good, just a little too expensive. I’ve

also tried their Chicken with Sweet Sauce (forget how it was called) never liked it. Tried their Banana and Granola Yoghurt. It was delicious. The crew weren’t that warm though.
I agree with Laurence on the crew – they are not warm. I ordered Pasta dish with vegetables and loved it! The banana yogurt has only few slices of banana but it still tasted good. The Baked Chicken with Toast and Pasta was worth its price, only that the chicken needs a little marinating.
Well… I thought “service” will be changed sa Yoghurt House… I did not re-acted before… nung last visit ko nung Dec 2007. This second time na punta ko ng Sagada May 1-4, my friends go there to eat hinde na ko sumama kasi I don’t like the service. But I just dropped by there to talk to them for a while…

I definitely agree with all those who commented negatively about the staff’s attitude. The food was great, no doubt about it. But if they don’t improve on their service, they’ll lose a lot of customers.
The members of the staff were not only the ones at fault. Actually, the owner herself was so “antipatika” to our group when we had our dinner there last April 14 this year. My friend just asked if the tuna mentioned in the menu is fresh or canned since it was not specified. The owner gave my friend a scowl & sarcastically said “this is Mt. Province..there’s no fish in Mt.Province!” Does she have to be rude to her fellow Filipinos? She can inform her in a nice way..like for instance, “we don’t have fresh fish now, we serve tuna from a can”. I also had a long time deciding olive curing what to order among the yoghurt flavors.
